After purchasing Il Posto in June 2023, following two years of closure, Chris and Wendy brought the restaurant back to life with a fresh vision: a classic Italian bistro serving scratch-made dishes inspired by local ingredients and seasonal flavors.
Chris's passion for cooking was born in his Italian family kitchen, where food was always at the center of life. From his early days as a dishwasher to becoming a chef and kitchen manager, his culinary journey is one of hard work, curiosity, and genuine love for the craft.
With over 30 years of combined experience in the food industry, Chris and Wendy, both Fairport natives, are dedicated to sharing their love of great food with the Canandaigua community. At Il Posto Bistro, everything from ingredients to beer, wine, and baked goods is locally sourced whenever possible, reflecting their belief that great food starts with supporting local people.
Il Posto isn't just a restaurant, it's a place to gather, celebrate, and enjoy the simple pleasure of a meal made with care.
